Virginia Commonwealth dedicating renamed school

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Commonwealth University is dedicating its renamed School of Mass Communications.

A ceremony for the Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture will be held on Tuesday on the VCU campus in downtown Richmond.

The name change honors VCU alumnus and retired television executive Richard T. Robertson, who will speak at the event.

School of Media and Culture director Hong Cheng says the change provides VCU with opportunities to integrate media and global culture into its programs, curriculum and activities.
