Maryland man arrested in Hyattsville murder

WASHINGTON — A 22-year-old Maryland man has been arrested in connection with a murder in Cheverly earlier this week, Prince George’s County Police Department say.

Thaddeus Desean Bailey of Hyattsville, Md., is accused of killing 46-year-old Duvaughn Ganeous, also of Hyattsville.

Bailey is charged with first- and second-degree murder and assault.

On May 1 at about 10:45 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 5400 block of Annapolis Road for reports of a stabbing. Ganeous was found suffering from apparent stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.

Officials say Bailey and Ganeous fought earlier in the evening.

Bailey is being held with no bond.
