WASHINGTON – It’s hard to drive anywhere and not hit a pothole, and recent storms haven’t helped.

D.C.’s Department of Transportation is only halfway through its Potholepalooza campaign, and it already filled twice the number it filled during 2013.

Potholes are a reality every spring, but this year driver Jasmine Jackson says she is seeing more potholes than usual.

“There’s no way to avoid them. Even if you do, if it’s a two-lane road, you can go into another car,” Jackson says.

Crews have already filled 37,000 potholes since January, marking more than a 500 percent increase over last year, says DDOT’s Reggie Sanders.

The District is encouraging drivers to report dangerous spots on DDOT’s website.
