Community Ministries of Rockville (CMR) is a non-sectarian 501(c)3 non-profit which has faithfully served those in need in Montgomery County, Maryland since 1967. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable of Montgomery County residents by providing them with basic health and human services and advocating on their behalf, with the goal of helping them achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. CMR is unique in that it operates five separate programs which provide a vast array of necessary services to meet the needs of our community: 1) MANSFIELD KASEMAN HEALTH CLINIC provides health care and health care education to low income uninsured adult residents of Montgomery County; 2) ROCKVILLE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM provides financial assistance to Rockville residents facing evictions/utility cutoffs or in need of prescription costs, and referrals for all County residents in need of social services such as food, clothing, dental and vision care; 3) ELDERLY MINISTRIES PROGRAM provides homecare services to low income frail elderly Rockville residents, helping them remain living independently in their own homes and avoid premature institutionalization; 4) LANGUAGE OUTREACH PROGRAM provides English language and literacy, as well as Citizenship classes to Montgomery County
