We are the local unit of the national 501 (c) 3 CAF founded to acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition combat aircraft flown by all military services of the United States, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans. More than just a collection of airworthy warplanes from the past, our fleet of historic aircraft recreate, remind and reinforce the lessons learned from the defining moments in American military aviation history. The CAF provides museum facilities for the permanent protection and display of the aircraft as a means to educate both young and old, as well as a tribute to the thousands of men and women who built, serviced and flew them. We also bring these aircraft to airports throughout the United States giving the local populations an opportunity to both see the aircraft on display and fly.
We are an all-volunteer organization using our dedication, enthusiasm and esprit de corps to operate, maintain and preserve our aircraft as symbols of our American military aviation heritage. The unit currently operates a Stinson L-5 representing forward air control in the Pacific, a Vultee BT-13 representing training of the Tuskegee Airmen during WWII, and a General Motors TBM-3E representing the USMC providing close air support during invasions in the Pacific.
