Closing ceremony recreates Olympic-ring failure

WASHINGTON — Remember the Olympic ring that didn’t fully open at the Opening Ceremony of the Sochi Olympics?

Well, the Russian organizers sure did. And they decided to poke some fun at themselves at Sunday’s closing ceremony.

During the pomp and glitz of the closing ceremony, a group of dancers re-created the motion of circles opening into the five Olympic rings — complete with the failure of the fifth to open.

You can’t say they don’t have a sense of humor.
