Edgewater man arrested for cooking meth

WASHINGTON — An Edgewater man has been arrested for allegedly cooking methamphetamine, Anne Arundel County Police said Friday.

Shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday, police officers were called to the 3600 block of 7th Avenue in Edgewater, where they smelled a chemical odor and found items that are typically used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Police say Joshua Lee Bell, 22, used potentially combustible chemicals, flasks, beakers, tubing and glassware to manufacture methamphetamine inside of the home for recreational purposes.

Inside the home, police also found chemical equations and notebooks with methamphetamine recipes. Bell has been charged with possession of methamphetamine and illegally manufacturing a controlled substance.
