WASHINGTON – The Metropolitan Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for 71 year-old Laura Townsend.

She was last seen on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, around 1 p.m. in the 1800 block of Alabama Avenue, SE.

Townsend is black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 120 pounds and has short, gray dread locks, brown eyes and a medium complexion. She was last seen wearing a black suede coat, black jogging pants, black gloves, black and white glasses and a Redskin’s winter hat. She may be in need of medical attention.
