Gaithersburg schools release students, police continue investigation

WASHINGTON – A Gaithersburg school on lockdown is releasing students, as are three schools that were sheltering in place following a nearby fatal shooting.

Montgomery County police are still looking for two suspects, described as wearing all black clothing. One suspect is wearing a black and white striped shirt.

Forest Oak Middle School was on lockdown, while Washington Grove Elementary, Gaithersburg Elementary and Gaithersburg Middle School were sheltering in place.

Students are being released on a regular, but late, dismissal.

A spokeswoman for Montgomery County police says police responded to the 400 block of North Summit Avenue just after 2:30 p.m., after receiving calls about a possible shooting.
