Police arrest mom after child’s death at D.C. elderly care facility

WASHINGTON – Police arrested a 26-year-old mother Wednesday after her infant son’s death at a D.C. elderly care facility Friday.

D.C. police arrested Sosefina Amoa, 26, Wednesday and charged her with first-degree murder in the child’s death, according to ABC7. The boy died Friday in the 4200 block of Harewood Road NE at Little Sisters of the Poor, police say.

The medical examiner determined the cause of death was asphyxiation.
