Leggett Could Face Serious Challenge In Primary — A poll commissioned by Councilmember Valerie Ervin shows former county executive Doug Duncan still has strong name identification (89 percent) among likely primary voters. Duncan is running against Isiah Leggett for county executive. Councilmember Phil Andrews is also running. The poll also fount 61 percent of likely primary voters are “persuadable,” meaning they are undecided or weakly committed to a candidate. [Washington Post]

Follow Trucker Protest — A group called “Truckers Ride for the Constitution” say they’ll hit the Capital Beltway today in a mass protest of President Barack Obama and “corruption in government.” Organizers say 3,000 trucks will take part in an effort to slow traffic. There are many doubts about the seriousness of the protest, which has garnered much media coverage. It’s also unknown if that many trucks would even cause a problem on the four-lane highway.
