Farragut West entrance briefly closed after police activity

WASHINGTON – The entrance to the Farragut West Metro station at 17th and I streets NW was temporarily closed Thursday afternoon.

Metro says transit police responded to a man with a knife.

The suspect refused to drop the weapon, and police used a “pepper ball” to subdue him before taking him into custody.

Train service was not disrupted, but the entrance was closed until the air cleared.
