Google updates search, looking up big words easier

WASHINGTON – Scrabble players, rejoice.

Google has expanded its word definition box.

When users type in a word and hit “enter,” they’re presented with the definition, as well as synonyms, antonyms and sample sentences.

The new feature also provides word origins and a timeline showing how the word’s popularity waxes and wanes.

The updated Google search is active on desktops and Google’s mobile app.
