WASHINGTON – A 25-year-old woman died Monday after a Prince William County police cruiser struck her while she was walking in a street under the influence of alcohol.

Prince William County police received a report of an apparently intoxicated woman walking in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday. An officer driving a marked cruiser was responding to the scene when he struck 25-year-old Isabella Majano, who police say was in the officer’s lane on northbound Jefferson Davis Highway near Crest Drive.
