WASHINGTON – Hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings would be realized over a 90-day period if a plan in Anne Arundel County comes to fruition.

Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman released a statement saying the measure will increase fire department coverage and efficiency throughout the county.

Savings and increased coverage would come through reassignments for operational and administrative staff.

The plan would be implemented over the next three months and it could reduce insurance rates for some property owners in the region.
