D.C. among best cities to strike it rich

WASHINGTON – Want to make some serious dough?

D.C. ranks third on a new list of the best cities to get rich.

CreditDonkey.com, a website that provides easy-to-understand financial tips and deals, considered three factors when creating the list:

  • Percentage of households making at least $150,000 per year
  • How quickly the urban economy is growing
  • Number of patents granted in 2011

D.C. finished behind San Jose and Boston. Rounding out the top 10 spots were Austin, Minneapolis, New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Houston and Raleigh.
