Spanish sandwich chain 100 Montaditos confirmed the opening date for its store at 4922 Elm St. has been moved back to August.

The fast casual restaurant’s first U.S. location outside of Florida was supposed to open in the former space of Green Papaya in May. Spokesperson Jennefer Melendez confirmed the new targeted opening date today.

The restaurant’s namesake is its montaditos — the crunchy Spanish rolls baked to order, filled with ingredients such as Serrano ham, tortilla, chorizo sausage and Iberian cheese. As the name implies, there are 100 varieties of fillings available and the bread is partially baked in Spain before being frozen and delivered to more than 250 locations around the world.

It will be a unique arrival on Bethesda Row, which also awaits the opening of Max Brenner (June 13) and a ShopHouse at the former space of City Lights of China(h/t Diana Russell)
