WASHINGTON – A 9-year-old girl has been taken to the hospital with minor injuries after she was struck by a car in Northeast Thursday morning.

The accident occurred at 7:40 a.m. in the 2900 block of Central Avenue, near the intersection with Vista Street.

Metropolitan police say the driver remained on the scene.
