D.C. man arrested for assaulting woman on Metro

WASHINGTON – A 19-year-old D.C. man has been arrested in connection with two sexual assaults that occurred on Metro property.

Michael Levaughn Williams is accused of grabbing one woman from behind at the New Carrollton/Largo Town Center platform Jan. 29, Metro Transit Police say.

Later that week, he allegedly assaulted the same woman on a Vienna-bound Orange Line train. The victim told police he touched her inappropriately, and that a bystander intervened and contacted the train operator by using the emergency intercom. Williams ran off the train at the next station.

Williams is being charged Friday for the Jan. 29 incident. Charges for the second assault are pending.
