WASHINGTON – If you think having a Hooters girl fielding foul balls during a baseball game could be a distraction, you’d be right — it just might not be distracting in the way you’d expect.

During a recent spring training game in Florida between the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies, NESN.com says the Rays’ Shelley Duncan hit a grounder that struck third base and rolled into foul territory.

Dutifully doing her job, a Hooters ball girl promptly fielded the baseball with her glove and gave it to a young fan in the stands.

Only problem? The ball was ruled fair.

Belatedly realizing her mistake, the ball girl covered her face with her glove.
