Prince George’s County narrows superintendent search to three

WASHINGTON – The search for a superintendent for Prince George’s County Public Schools has been narrowed to three.

In a news release, the Board of Education said, after a national search, the finalists are:

  • Dr. Eric J. Becoats, superintendent of schools for Durham Public Schools in Durham, N.C.;
  • Dr. Alvin L. Crawley, interim superintendent of schools for Prince George’s County Public Schools;
  • Harrison A. Peters, chief of schools for Chicago Public Schools in Chicago, Ill.

In the news release, the board said the search timeline has been ambitious and many community and town hall meetings on the subject.

A decision is expected to be reached before July 1.
