The Maryland Board of Public Works unanimously approved Wednesday a deal that would allow BWI/Marshall Airport to waive fees, a move designed to encourage new routes to and from the airport, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.

BWI will now be allowed to eliminate charges like landing fees, the price to lease office space and parking fees for airlines adding new routes.

The fee waivers last for two years, per Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
