Route 197 reopens after accident

WASHINGTON – Two people were ejected from their vehicle late Wednesday night in Laurel, and part of Route 197 was shut down for several hours.

The accident occurred along Rte. 197 between Contee and Muirkirk roads near Brock Bridge Road after 11 p.m. The road was reopened just before 2:30 a.m.

Prince George’s County Fire says the two people in the vehicle were taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.

No other vehicles were involved.

Apparently, the car rolled several times and came to a stop in the woods.
