South Korea opens world’s first toilet theme park

WASHINGTON – A theme park full of … toilets?

That’s the theme of South Korea’s newest amusement park, dubbed the Restroom Cultural Park, in the southern city of Suwon, the BBC reports.

Visitors can learn about human feces, explore a toilet-themed art gallery and pose with statues of people going to the bathroom.

The BBC reports the park was built in memory of Suwon’s former mayor Sim Jae-Duck – lovingly called “Mr. Toilet.” Jae-Duck was reportedly born in his grandmother’s toilet and promoted better public toilets throughout his life.

According to the BBC, Jae-Duck loved toilets so much that he built a toilet-shaped house to live in. The house has since been converted into a museum.
