WASHINGTON – Thousands of utility crew workers began restoring power lines in the District, Maryland and Virginia Tuesday morning.

There were widespread reports of fallen trees on top of houses and cars and one reported death in Pasadena, Md, from a tree falling on a man’s house.

More than 310,000 people were without power in the D.C. area as of 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Below is a video of Washington Gas crew members repairing damage after a giant tree fell on top of a home on Quebec Street NW in Washington D.C.
