(Updated: 4:10 p.m.): Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Officer Janelle Smith said a man (not a woman as previously reported) was stabbed on the Capital Crescent Trail behind the old Bethesda Post Office on Friday afternoon.

Smith said there are indications the stabbing stemmed from a dispute between two homeless men.

The call came in just after 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

The incident does not appear to be related to a sexual assault that occurred on the Trail on Sunday evening, on the section between Massachusetts Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard.
