High school kicker clears 67-yard field goal (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON – A high school kicker in Washington State has made history after clearing a 67-yard field goal on Thursday.

Austin Rehkow, of Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, made the kick with 2 seconds left to tie the game 55-55 against Shadle Park High School at Joe Albi Stadium.

In the NFL, the record is 63 yards and it has been accomplished four times. Tom Dempsey in 1970, Jason Elam in 1998, Sebastian Janikowski in 2011 and David Akers this season back in September.

The longest field goal ever attempted in the NFL was by Sebastian Janikowski with the Oakland Raiders. Janikowski kicked a 76 yards on September 28, 2008 but did not make it.
