Transformer problem leaves 1,400 without power

WASHINGTON – About 1,400 Pepco customers are without electricity Friday morning.

Most are in the Wheaton area of Montgomery County.

Pepco spokesman Bob Hainey says a bad transformer is the problem and power should be restored by noon.
