Two dead in apparent murder-suicide in Oakton

WASHINGTON – A man shot and killed his roommate and then turned the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday night in Oakton.

Fairfax County police say the incident happened around 7 p.m. at an apartment at 3051 Trevor House Drive.

Police say 43-year-old Ihab Robert Qutob was dead when police arrived. Alleged shooter Alexander Aden Rios, 27, was taken to a local hospital where he later died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The motive was not immediately clear and a handgun was found at the scene.

Police believe it’s an isolated incident and there was no danger to the community.
