New Serbian restaurant headed for Barracks Row

Ivan Iricanin, who has partnered on such restaurants as Masa 14 and El Centro D.F., will open up his own place on Barracks Row this fall.

Iricanin has signed a lease for 3,000 square feet at 523 Eighth St. SE. The restaurant’s name and chef are still to come, but it will serve food of his native Serbia and feature a 700-square-foot patio.

“It’s a new concept for the D.C. area,” Iricanin said.

He has hired Branimir Lukic of Serbia-based architectural firm AteljeAl DOO to design the restaurant and hopes to open by late October or early November.
