Arlington couple dead in apparent murder-suicide

WASHINGTON – Two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide in the Fairlington area, according to Arlington County Police.

The two people who lived in the 4500 block of 31st Street were in a romantic relationship, investigators say. Police are not saying how they died or how long the bodies had been in the apartment.

A family member who lived in the apartment discovered their bodies around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, police say. The victims are described as a Hispanic man and woman in their 30s.

The last homicide in Arlington County was in March 2010.

“Any neighborhood in Arlington County is extremely safe,” says Dustin Sternbeck, county police spokesperson.
