Gas prices on the rise again

WASHINGTON – The honeymoon is over. Gas prices are going up again.

The latest WTOP Pain in the Gas Survey shows the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.49, 5 cents higher than last week.

Premium gas rose by 5 cents, to $3.70 a gallon. Mid-grade is up 6 cents to $3.83, and diesel is up a penny to $3.86.

The average for regular fuel this week is cheapest in Virginia, where regular averages $3.42 a gallon. The average is $3.44 in Maryland. In the District, a gallon of regular averages $3.62.
