Fox’s Chris Wallace pulled over during a live phone interview

WASHINGTON – When police say they are cracking down cell phone use while driving, they mean it.

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace learned the hard way on Thursday morning.

Wallace was in the middle of a live phone interview with radio host Jamie Allen, discussing President Obama’s campaign on his cell phone, when a D.C. police officer pulled him over.

As the host was speaking, Wallace interrupted to say he had a problem.

“I’m talking to you on a cell phone and there’s a policeman here and I probably shouldn’t have been talking on a cell phone,” Wallace said. “So, uh. I’m about to get arrested. Good-bye.”

Wallace hung up the phone and left the host and his listeners confused for a moment, until they heard a dial tone.

Some blogs are reporting that Wallace was arrested, but Fox News says he was not.
