Small outage in Bethesda after Pepco worker burned

WASHINGTON – A Pepco employee working on power lines today in Bethesda was sent to the hospital for receiving flash burns.

The utility says the flash happened when the man was working in the 53-hundred block of Pooks Hill Road.

He was conscious when emergency crews arrived on the scene and was taken to a local hospital where he was later released.

Pepco says crews are still working on two downed power lines in the area. The affected customers, which is estimated to be fewer than 20, should have their power back by late this afternoon.
