Tony Award-winning Broadway, television and screen star Brian Stokes Mitchell headlined Washington Performing Arts Society’s Annual Gala and Auction, The WPAS Children of the Gospel Choir also performed. The evening raised money for among other things, the WPAS Summer Performing Arts Academy each year offers tuition-free summer performing arts camps: the Capitol Jazz Project Summer Camp, Children of the Gospel Vocal Workshop and Summer Steps, taught by D.C. stepping group Step Afrika!
