MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, Md. – Two teenagers were hurt when a pair of pit bulls attacked them in Montgomery Village Tuesday evening.

Montgomery County Police say a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-girl were attacked while walking on the 20400 block of Boulder Ridge Terrace just after 8:30 p.m.

A sheriff tried to subdue one of the dogs with a taser, but it didn’t work.

Montgomery County Police used a taser as well, but also were unsuccessful.

Two officers ended up shooting it several times, eventually killing it.

The second dog was cornered and collected by its owner.

The 15-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl were taken by ambulance to a local hospital with bites to the arms and legs.

The injuries are not considered serious.

Animal control has issued two citations to the owner, one for having a dog at large.
