WASHINGTON – Hundreds of kids took to the streets on Saturday morning for a run of their own — before the Rock ‘n Roll marathon.
The event near RFK stadium was to fight childhood obesity by teaching kids that fitness is fun.
It was the first ING KiDS ROCK D.C. run, and children from kindergarten through seventh grade took part. But Saturday’s event was actually the finale of a weeks-long training program leading up to the event.
ESPN sportscaster Bonnie Bernstein was a race ambassador, and another notable celebrity, Dr. Andy Baldwin, of ‘The Bachelor’ took part, as well.
