Metro mid-day and night track work this week

WASHINGTON – Here’s your weekly schedule of Metro track work planned for both the mid-day and night hours the week of March 12-16:

Red Line

• Monday through Thursday, beginning at 10 p.m., Red Line trains will single track between Takoma and Forest Glen for fiber optic cable installation and station platform repairs. Customers should allow 15 minutes of additional travel time.

• Tuesday through Thursday, beginning at 8 p.m., Red Line trains will single track between Van Ness and Medical Center to allow for NTSB-recommended track circuit module replacement. Customers should allow 15 minutes of additional travel time.

Orange Line

• Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, Orange Line trains will single track between Vienna and West Falls Church to allow for rail fastener, tie and insulator renewal. Customers should expect minor delays.

• Monday through Thursday, beginning at 10 p.m., Orange Line trains will single track between East Falls Church and West Falls Church to allow for testing associated with the Dulles rail extension. Customers should allow 10 minutes of additional travel time.

Blue Line

• Monday through Thursday, beginning at 10 p.m., Orange Line trains will single track between Stadium-Armory and Addison Road to allow for repairs to floating slabs beneath the rails. Customers should allow 10 minutes of additional travel time.

Green Line

• Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, trains will single track between College Park and Greenbelt for rail, fastener, tie and insulator renewal. Customers should allow about 10 minutes of additional travel time.

Yellow Line

• No scheduled work.
