Plea for information after woman killed in car racing collision

WASHINGTON – The husband of a woman who died Wednesday after a hit-and-run crash in Maryland asked publicly on Thursday for anyone with information about the incident please come forward.

Nelvis Suyapa Garcia died after a wreck on the 800 block of Randolph Road at its intersection with Timberview Court around 4 p.m. Police say the collision may have been caused by two drivers who were racing.

Police say a dark gray 4-door car and a green and white Mini Cooper are believed to be involved. Both drivers fled the scene after the crash.

Garcia’s husband says he hopes anyone who witnessed the crash will contact the Montgomery County Police Department.
