WASHINGTON – A fire truck crashed into another car while responding to a blaze at a senior living facility, officials say.
Three people in the car were taken to local hospitals, all with non-life threatening injuries.
The truck was en route to the Pinewood East Senior Living Facility in Glen Burnie, where a fire broke out around 6:45 p.m., the Anne Arundel County Fire Department says.
Seventy-one firefighters evacuated the building.
One man described to be in 50s or 60s was found with second and third-degree burns over 70 percent of his body.
Paramedics took him to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with critical injuries.
No one else was hurt.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames to one apartment on the fourth floor and put it out within 20 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
