Daytime lane closures planned on Beltway

Tim Bracken, wtop.com

The Wilson Bridge Project could cause some delays in your late morning travels, starting Tuesday.

Tuesday, drivers will find the Thru lanes of the Capital Beltway’s Inner Loop affected. Both loops of the Beltway will be affected Wednesday, when one of the Telegraph Road exits will be closed. There will also be lane closures on Mill Road at the ramp to Telegraph Road.

Here’s what you need to know:

Tuesday, Feb. 28

  • In the Thru lanes on the Inner Loop, the left lane will be blocked from the Metro bridge to just before the Telegraph Road exit, leaving one lane open between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • The right lane of the Outer Loop will be closed between the Eisenhower Connector and Telegraph Road between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 29

  • The exit from the Outer Loop to Telegraph Road will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. — Drivers are encouraged to take the Eisenhower Avenue exit from the Outer Loop, go straight on Stovall Street, then left on Pershing Avenue, and right on Telegraph North to access Duke Street.

Wednesday, Feb. 28 through Friday, March 2

  • Wednesday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Mill Road will have a lane blocked in both directions between Stovall Street and the access ramp to Telegraph Road.
