Survey: The habits that annoy your co-workers

WASHINGTON – Monday morning will soon be here, and you’ll be back on the job. Are you looking forward to seeing your co-workers or do you find them annoying?

A new survey finds that if you’re annoyed by your co-workers — you’re not alone.

The Yahoo! Shine/Fitness Magazine survey found that 79 percent of employees feel annoyed at their workplace.

The survey found that both men and women are turned off by their colleague’s hygiene. Men named a co-worker’s body odor their top complaint, with 41 percent. 36 percent of women say the the same thing.

Women are most likely (41 percent) to be annoyed when somebody else steals credit for their ideas. 36 percent of men say the same thing. 44 percent of younger works (18 to 34-year-olds) of both sexes have the same complaint.

Nearly a third of all employees (33 percent of women and 31 percent of men) are irked by hearing a colleague’s loud, personal telephone conversations.

The lunchroom is a big issue. Men and women are equally annoyed (27 percent) when someone swipes their food out of the office fridge. For some it’s their biggest complaint. 13 percent of men and 12 percent of women are grossed out by smelly foods.
