WASHINGTON – In about a month, it could become clear whether the Washington Redskins plan to move their training camp from Ashburn, Va. to the District.

D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray and the team have had informal conversations about the possibility for a while. DCist reports that over the next month, city staff members will be meeting with members of the community about plans for Reservation 13 — a 67-acre plot of land where RFK Stadium, the old D.C. General Hospital and the D.C. Jail currently stand.

The mayor then will hold a meeting in late March about the possibility of a training facility coming to the site, DCist says.

Meanwhile, Gray’s wooing of the Redskins also hasn’t escaped the attention of Loudoun County officials, who have repeated their offer to build the team a Hall of Fame at their existing training facility.
