Van Halen’s new album, well, rocks

WASHINGTON – Having personally known Van Halen for years, especially Sammy Hagar — the lead singer who replaced David Lee Roth in the mid 80s — I was especially excited to listen to their new CD, “A different kind of truth.”

There are thirteen songs, and they’re all true to form — they rock.

Their much anticipated CD will be released next Tuesday, Feb. 7. It’s their first release to feature original singer David Lee Roth since their last album in 1984.

Though they claim to have the original line up, there is one glaring exception: Michael Anthony, the original bass player, is not with them this time. He has been replaced by Eddie Van Halen’s son.

Sammy Hagar was asked what he thought of the new CD.

“It’s OK,” he said.

Here is the song list for the new CD:

  • ‘Tattoo’
  • ‘She’s the Woman’
  • ‘You and Your Blues’
  • ‘China Town’
  • ‘Blood and Fire’
  • ‘Bullethead’
  • ‘As Is’
  • ‘Honeybabysweetiedoll’
  • ‘The Trouble With Never’
  • Outta Space’
  • ‘Stay Frosty’
  • ‘Big River’
  • ‘Beats Workin”
