WASHINGTON – First there was the pajama jean. Now there is the “Dress Pant Sweatpant”, a pseudo-pant designed specifically with men’s comfort in mind.
The pants, recently featured in Gizmodo, are made to look like fine charcoal wool trousers. They are actually made from what the company calls “high-end French terry fabric.”
The website touts the pants as “an experiment in sartorial subterfuge.”
The pants sell for $90 and range in size from 28W-32L to 40W-32L.
To add to the reality of dress pants, the sweatpants feature pockets, belt loops and a zippered fly.
The company behind the dress pant sweatpant, Betabrand, also transformed Japanese flannel into the Jaflannel Shirt-Jacket, inspired by the famous hipster lumberjacks of Tokyo.
