Capitol Heights plans for ‘green’ street

Capitol Heights may be getting its first “green” street through work with Beltsville-based Low Impact Development Center, a nonprofit, Gazette.Net reports.

The organization received a $30,000 grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust and the Environmental Protection Agency to create wider sidewalks, permeable asphalt and bicycle lanes on Capitol Heights roads like Old Central Avenue.
