Hunt for suspect in attempted school robbery

WASHINGTON – Fort Foote Elementary School in Fort Washington was on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after an attempted robbery that occurred inside the school.

Prince George’s County Police are looking for a man in his 20s who went into the school in the 8300 block of Oxon Hill Road and tried to rob a staff member.

Police say no weapon was seen during the incident.

The suspect left after school officials told him they did not have any money, police say.

Prince George’s County Public Schools officials say students were dismissed as normal, following the incident.

The suspect is described as a black man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans with a slim build and medium complexion.
