Rapid bus transit en route to Montgomery County

WASHINGTON – Montgomery County lawmakers are fed up with waiting for a light rail system. It could take up to 10 years to acquire state and federal funding, so the county is going another route: Buses.

In an unanimous vote, the council voted to get on board with a plan to develop a rapid bus system that would take commuters from Shady Grove to the Clarksburg area.

The plan would go in phases and ideally would relieve congestion that already clogs heavy traffic areas.
